Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. Avery Sunshine has performed on Broadway and in festivals throughout Europe, as well as performing at Democratic National Convention. Sunshine has the name Denise White. Though she's located in Atlanta, her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop a musical career performing and singing at the church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she began her musical journey on Atlanta's R&B culture. In 2005, she became the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 about serving as the Choral Director for Dreamgirls, the theatre production at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine became famous during the four daily performances in 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine sang during Barack Obama's Inauguration in 2009.
