Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn was born in the United States and has been working professionally for over 27 years. She's been an professional actor for the past 27 years. She first made an appearance on stage during an off-Broadway production of The Big Funk by John Patrick Shanley in 1990. As a character in The Perfect Tribute, she was given her first TV appearance one year later. Her biggest break in her career came about in the year 1992, when she was a character in Basic Instinct. It was in The Firm however that she got the role of female lead for the very first time. She was cast in the film alongside stars like Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. In the 1990s Gwyneth was a co-star together with Hugh Grant on Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews for Relative Values. In recent times, she played Dr. Alex Blake (a police procedural-crime drama) in Criminal Minds.
