The Newtown, Conn. duo is now in the top 8 of the competition! Sasha announced that he is transgender as part of their Blind Auditions package. He stated to Parade.com that it was a long process to come up with the idea. "That was a very difficult decision because you're exposing a exposed part of you in front of millions and millions individuals," said Sasha, who was transgender while at high school. The fans' support and the effect that it can have on the people around, regardless of the fact that it was difficult and was the main reason that was the main factor that convinced Sasha that the transition was worth it. "We played it before The Voice was even a thing in our lives. It was an amazing surprise. The song was one we already knew, and we had many concepts to create. They really hit the mark."
